This site started as a private showcase for bears that we own, but it's grown a long way from that. I'm happy to provide links and information about any British bear artist. I don't want to go international because there's a limit to the time I can spend on this. There are two ways that you can be involved.
Anytime I come across a website for a British Bear Artist, I try to add it to my Links page - I tend to the view that if you have a website, you probably want people to find it, so I don't bother asking first! If you want your page to be 'linked' and I've missed it so far, just email the URL for your site to me at john@bearartistsofbritain.org and I'll add it at the next update. If your page is linked from there and for some reason you don't want it to be, I will of course remove links on request.
If you want a page on this site then I do need your permission to reproduce your images (where I own bears I have photographed them and therefore technically have copyright on the photo). You can either email me some images (JPEG format for preference but I can cope with just about any format), or send me original photos (email me for the snail mail address) which I can scan and then return to you, or else give me permission to take some images from your website. I will include no more than 2 pictures per artist and to give some degree of equal treatment all images are re-scaled to a height of 200 pixels. I often adjust brightness/contrast as well and may use some slight digital enhancement. Where it works visually I may also include a logo. Plus I can add your name, and contact details. Where these are publicly available either by your website or through current advertising then I assume you're happy for them to be included unless you tell me otherwise. If they're not currently in the public domain, please let me know what details you want included - I appreciate that for many people, home address and phone number may be an essential way of doing business but I do believe everyone should think very carefully about what personal information they make available on the internet (one of my research interests is internet security and ethics, and cyberstalking is going to become big news here soon as it already is in the US of A).
I will always make corrections, remove pages and modify contact details on request from the person concerned. Updates to images will be considered but may not be treated as a priority.
I welcome people providing links from their website to mine - get that little counter whizzing 'round!

If you feel confident coding it yourself, please link to the homepage at www.bearartistsofbritain.org, the site name is BEAR ARTISTS OF BRITAIN, and if you use graphical links please use this button (in IE just right click on it and select Save Picture As)
